  • If you find that your pipes are flowing less water than look for a whitish scale in the pipes. If the whitish scale is present than it means that your water has high hardness level.
  • You may even find soap scum on the washbasins, bathroom walls, bathtubs, etc. Hard water forces soap to leave a filmy and sticky soap scum on the skin which causes itching and can also make the skin dull.

Use of water softeners for hard water treatment

Water softeners are water purification systems that are used for reducing the hardness level of the water. These water softeners reduce the level of mineral content from the water namely; calcium and magnesium. The calcium and magnesium get attached to the tank consisting of ion-exchange beads. These beads attract calcium and magnesium and replace them with sodium. These waters can then be used throughout the house for different purposes. Use of water conditioners for hard water treatment

Water conditioners are also used as a means for the treatment of hard water. These water conditioners retain the calcium ions that are suspended in the water. However, they reduce their tendency of formation of limescale. Water conditioners allow you to revel in the benefit of calcium present in the water as they are considered as good dietary material. In simple words, water conditioners remove the side effects of calcium in the water in the form of limescalerather than removal of calcium altogether. Use of water conditioners is debated as they do not work in every situation.
